Phoenix A curious fire I was visiting friends many years ago. At a time of wondering what life would bring next in my many twists and turns. They had started a campfire and we went out to enjoy it. On my way out the door I heard "get your camera". This struck me as odd, but everything is for a reason. So with camera in hand I went to watch the fire and visit with friends.
At one point in the evening I was led to take a photo of the fire. The above photo is one of only a couple I took that evening. I enlarged the upper right hand corner in the closer views above.
What leaps out of the image is a Phoenix. Pretty clear. With fiery wings and body and a rather clear head. As I look at the head over and over it really does not look like flames. It's a bird's head. Well of course we all have heard of a Phoenix, rising from the ashes, a bird of fire. A strong symbol of transformation, of rebirth. But to see one is a curious thing. As I once heard a Native say, "Nothing is for no reason." I was led to take my camera to the fire and I listened. And there it is, a Phoenix. I look back today and I was clearly at a point of transformation, of changing directions, of rebirth. The Phoenix was a perfect message from Source Creator, as the Natives call God. By any name the messages are clear all around us each day if we look and listen and ask. We are supported and not alone.
