Miracles of life - Deer Journeys
"Hey, I have a wonderful idea."
"What's that Dear?"
"Let's not spend the fall running from the strange men
who always seem to go bonkers for some reason in fall.
They just pick up guns and start shooting at us.
It must be the change in weather that gets to them.
They suddenly just lose it.
Let's go someplace else .... more remote."
"Yea they do don't they.
I've never figured that out.
Maybe it's the trees losing their leaves.
They think the world is ending or something?
They forget we're All One from God and they just panic.
I kind of feel sorry for them, being so disconnected.
Anyway, we've spent generations praying they'll wake up someday.
That sounds like a good plan.
Where should we go?"
"I can picture a remote island someplace.
It could be just the two of us,
relaxing on the shores, running in the forest.
We could kick back and enjoy ourselves.
Like a romantic get away."
"That sounds like a super plan Dear.
I know just the place.
It's only a mile or so swim across the middle of the lake.
We could leave today."
"Yes, I'm with you."
And as I watched the deer finished their magnificent swim of easily over a mile across the lake. I caught up with them in my kayak just asthey reached the far shore. At first I thought they were strange looking ducks. But when I got close and saw giant floppy ears I was a bit perplexed. Finally I realized those were deer heads just barely sticking out of the water.
At no point did I feel like picking up a gun and shooting. I guess I'm not affected by the leaves falling off the trees like some people are. Curious.
May they find peace on their island tretreat, and look forward to a beautiful warm spring.
