Miracle Falls
This waterfall is truly a Celebration of Rain. They say it only flows after rainfall. The rest of the time it is dry, waiting, perhaps hoping, for the next cloud.
I have been here before and never seen it flow. Today was a nice miracle that I arrived with the rains and had a raincoat ready.
For a very small amount of water flowing it really makes for a pretty falls. It makes the best of what it is given each rain.
A native elder told me once that the trees sing to the sky when they need rain.
Perhaps the falls sings to the trees to pass the message along. We can only wonder at all the connections and miracles around us.
The place is currently called Devil's Den state park. But rumor has it after the coming changes it will be called Miracle Falls state park. Some of us already call it that. Well ... Ok maybe one of us ... and perhaps you as well.
